Karthik Kamal Balasubramaniam is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the IT industry. He is currently the Director of Engineering at Grofers, where he works with nature and communities to create innovative solutions. Karthik has a strong background in Agile coaching and has worked with several companies in the past, including Agilefaqs and Aricent. At Agilefaqs, Karthik trained teams in Agile principles, practices, and ceremonies. He conducted regular 1-0-1 sessions with team members to capture their concerns and mentor them. He also coached the Scrum master and functional managers towards the servant leadership model. Karthik extensively guided the team on User Story splitting, Product Backlog grooming, and planning meetings. He coached the teams to work effectively in a distributed Agile environment. At Aricent, Karthik implemented Scrum and Kanban from scratch and coached teams in Agile principles, events, and practices. He facilitated Value Stream Mapping exercises to identify process waste and helped team members identify action plans for waste removal. Karthik also facilitated Root Cause Analysis sessions and Pareto Analysis sessions and conducted Code Retreat Carnivals for various teams. He facilitated Open Space Events, Scrum Master Forums, and Community of Practices. Karthik showed visible improvements in team performance after Agile implementation. Karthik has also headed the initiatives with respect to Agile in the organization as a member of Agile CoE. He helped create an Agile framework in the organization and conducted webinars and events on a regular basis. Karthik holds a BE degree in Electronics and Communication from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. He completed his schooling from St. Pauls Matriculation and Higher Secondary School.
